NFL Roundup: Broncos Edge Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

In a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a close victory over the winless New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Dominant Performance Wins Contest

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after giving up a two-point play in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's 27-yard field goal with approximately five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Attack

Despite their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had possession with a chance to drive for a possible winning score. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it instead of calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback struggled throughout, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with minus-10 net yards passing, the fewest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented after the game.
